The Taj Mahal opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes 30 minutes before sunset on regular days. The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday for general visitors.

Eastern Gate: Tickets available one hour before sunrise to 45 minutes before sunset.

Night viewing is allowed on the full moon night and two days on either side each month. Timings run from 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM in 8 batches of maximum 50 people each.
Each batch is allowed 30 minutes inside the Taj Mahal premises. Tourists must report 30 minutes before their scheduled time at Shilpgram (Eastern Gate) for security checks. Valid ID is mandatory.
Night viewing tickets can be cancelled at the ASI office by 1:00 PM on the day of viewing. A 25% cancellation fee applies per ticket.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Office, 22 The Mall, Agra β up to 24 hours in advance. Booking hours: 10:00 AM β 6:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis.
Up to 400 visitors are allowed per night, divided into 8 batches of 50 each. Carry photocopies of your passport when buying tickets. The full moon schedule is available on the ASI website several years in advance.
